The dishwasher is a mechanical device designed for cleaning dishes and utensils used for eating mostly in private homes and restaurants. Dishwashers normally are cleaned using a mixture of water and soap; and then later rinsed in clean water to remove the soap residue. A number of machines have a rinsing aid which is used to completely rinse the utensils. During this, two multiple wash and rinse periods the soap or the rinsing aid being used possibly will be alkaline for any human exposure hence one is advised to not touch. In most peoples minds when they are using dishwashers the assumptions is that turn and scrubbing of utensils like how it is done manually, henceforth in their assumption breakables can not ht be cleaned using a dishwasher but only non-breakables.as we have the two multiple process of washing and rinsing does not include turning, or shaking and scrubbing of the utensils hence breakables can easily be cleaned without breaking.
Some items can be damaged in a dishwasher due to the effects of the chemicals and hot water. However, glass is not included in this scenario. The items that are damaged in dishwasher are lead crystals, aluminum items can discolor. While the washing process is running some objects contain solvent materials many explode in a dishwasher. Glued bits and pieces such as wooden cutlery may have glue attaching them melt or softened especially on hot wash cycle, also these high temperatures can sometimes distort the shape of plastics but not break the glass.
Saucepans are among the items recommended for hand washing due to harsh effects of the chemicals on the pans coatings. During the drying process plastic utensils might dry as compared to the other utensils, such as the china ware or glass ware; but the glass does not break due to the heat because the amount of heat being exposed on the utensils is too low to affect the shape or even break or deform any of the utensils. The only scenario whereby there is a probability of the items getting destroyed or tampered with is when we have water in combination with carbon dioxide in the air. This can destroy the surface of the glass. Mostly, at any time the water releases a number of alkaline properties from the outside surface of the glass.
Henceforth in conclusion dishwashers are very safe to use while washing glass and other utensils and items regardless of their fragile state; whether it is during the washing, rinsing or drying process. The case whereby dishwashers destroy utensils is when the utensils are of plastic material. This is because plastic contains components that are solvents are glued together and so forth.
