Carpet cleaning service may not be a daily need in our life. However, it is a requirement everyone needs at some point of time. There are plenty of methods to clean a carpet. Depending upon the stain accumulated in the carpet it is wise to choose the proper cleaning method. The stain accumulated in carpets may produce a musty odour during the course of time. Sometimes people opt for professional carpet cleaning service rather than battling it out with the dusts and stains. Carpet cleaning on a DIY basis or hiring a professional depends upon the concentration of stains in a carpet.
Carpets are prone to various stains like environmental dusts, food spills, cooking spills and other stains. Regular maintenance of a carpet is the only way to save it from becoming dull. Even though a carpet is vacuumed daily, it may look dull one day because of the stains accumulated in it. This is the time when a carpet needs some special cleaning service to retain the old glow. Special cleaning requires plenty of equipments and professional cleaning solutions.
Regular Cleaning
Vacuuming is the basic thing involved in regular carpet cleaning works. It can be done once in a week or daily, depending upon the cleaning requirements. While vacuuming, special attention should be paid to clean the corners located close to the walls. In case of large carpets, the area should be divided into squares and cleaning work should be done accordingly. Lack of regular maintenance may lead to other problems like bad odour, germs and bacteria growth etc. Musty odour from carpets can be avoided by adding some baking soda to the vacuum bag.
Special Cleaning
Unlike regular cleaning works, special cleaning involves the usage of chemical cleaners and cleaning tools. Visible stains on the top surface of a carpet should be wiped off with the help of scrubbers. Cleaning solutions should be applied through cloth or other methods. Care should be taken to check whether the cleaning solution picks up colour from the carpet. Carpet cleaning machines can also be rented to make things easier.
Rare stains like red wine stain and ink stains can be treated by using specific chemical solutions. Most of the solutions available in the market come with a pre-treatment liquid. Shampooing can be done after the application of pre-treatment solution. Owing to this method, tough stains can be removed from the carpet. It is also important to replace the soapy water frequently while cleaning. After the carpet becomes dry, vacuuming can be done all over the carpet to fluff up the fibres.
Due to careful maintenance and regular cleaning, a carpet can be used for a long period of time. We install carpets for aesthetic reasons. We want to add that lush ambience and the perks that go with it. Because of our busy schedule we tend to forget to take care of the things that add design to our house. A carpet is just a thing but without it, our house will not appear how we want it to be.
