It is believed that acne is a problem only for teenagers. But this is not true. Acne is a problem for almost all ages. Acne is caused when oil glands come to life around teen years, stirred by male hormones.

Differin (Generic Adapalene) is available in three forms.

• Differin Gel 0.1% - This is a clear gel format, which gets deep inside the pores to control the oil upsurge that leads to acne.

• Differin Gel 0.3% - This is also a clear gel, which is a more powerful formulation for more challenging acne.

• Differin Cream 0.1% - This has been particularly created for more sensitive skin.

Be extra careful while using Differin (Generic Adapalene). Clean your skin with a soft disinfectant, never soap, before applying Differin (Generic Adapalene).

Dry your skin with a soft cotton cloth. Apply Differin (Generic Adapalene) thinly on dry areas of the skin affected by acne.

A brief stinging may occur immediately after applying Differin (Generic Adapalene). Stay away from sun, sunlamps or tanning booths until you get to know how your skin responds to Differin (Generic Adapalene). To block sun light, you can use sunscreen. It may be harmful to apply Differin (Generic Adapalene) on wind burned or sunburned skin or on open wounds. Apply Differin Generic Adapalene gently, rub it in well, and wash your hands properly.

The general side effects may be hives, difficulty in breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat, an intense burning sensation, eye redness, conjunctivitis, eyelid swelling, skin discoloration, rash, itching, swelling, and severe dizziness. If side effects worsen during the first 2-4 weeks of using Differin (Generic Adapalene), stop using Differin (Generic Adapalene) and get medical help immediately.

Do not use Differin (Generic Adapalene) for longer than your doctor has prescribed. Do not apply any other skin products unless your doctor has told you to do so.

If you forget to use Differin (Generic Adapalene) at the prescribed time, use it as soon as possible. If you don't remember until the next day, wait until it is time for your next dose.

Differin (Generic Adapalene) may be harmful if swallowed.

Differin (Generic Adapalene) is usually applied once daily, in the evening.

Store Differin (Generic Adapalene) at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Do not expose to heat or fire sources. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
