When it comes to skin care, moisturizing is usually one of the more popular, and though it’s hard to believe, more controversial topics. Some experts swear by moisturizing as the best way to keep your skin youthful and healthy while others feel a bit more suspicious of its benefits.
Satisfying your skin is not as easy as downing a glass of water. It is probably already stocked with lotions and creams promising to revitalize, replenish, and rehydrate. So why does your skin still feel tight and uncomfortable?
If you're ready to GIVE the "skin your in" an all natural, healthy, moisturizing experience, then here's some homemade skin moisturizing recipes that will make you and your skin happy!
Toning
Toners are less emphasized as an accepted skin care routine these days. Toners are used to recondition our skin, and give it a balance of natural skin sebum. Usually, there are two types of toners. One is meant for oily skin types and the other for dry skin types. The dry skin toner type contains little or no alcohol so that it will not dries the skin further. Compounds like allantoin, glycerin and soothing plants extracts can be found in toners for dry skin. After toning, your face will feel less stretched and more taut.
Uses of Moisturizer For many Skin types:
-
Moisturizer for Oily Skin: You need an oil-free, water-based moisturizer.
-
Moisturizer for Dry Skin: Choose a thicker, oil-based moisturizer.
-
Moisturizer for Combination Skin - Use a light, hydrating formula twice a day.
-
Always choose a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer for use on sensitive skin.
How can anti-aging skin products help hydrate your skin?
When considering moisture, anti-aging skin creams and lotions are vital since your skin craves moisture. For your skin to be smooth, soft and glowing with health, your skin cells require the moisture. You must understand that your skin has a Natural Moisture Factor or NMF, which is the combinations of free amino acids, and other moisture-attracting elements such as lactic acid, urea and salts, which help, preserve the fluid in the skin's upper layers and helps prevent water losses, as these will lead to premature aging of the skin.
Take an empty toilet tissue roll and set it on end in a clean bowl. Spoon mixture into the cardboard toilet paper roll (or consider using an empty deodorant container). Place tube, in the bowl, in the freezer overnight.
Dry skin types do require more attention but it is not necessary to use a heavy moisturiser for it may well seal up pores and prevent skin from breathing naturally increasing the risk of spots. Products containing glycerine and macadamia nut oil can be particularly beneficial in moisturising dry skin.
There are a number of home remedies for dry skin available for all. For people who have tried conventional medical products and have found that they did not work, home remedies for dry skin may be worth trying out. There are a number of home remedy books available at most book stores that will likely hold even more home remedy ideas for dry skin.
In general moisturizing is key in preventing dry skin. Doing this after a bath is the best time since you are still damp and wet. This will provide the skin protection from its oils drying out. Knowing these factors will give you a good understanding in how to lessen if not avoid the formation of dry skin.
