When was the last time when you looked at the mirror and failed to recognize your face with all those wrinkles and cringes? The mirror in the wall does speak the truth. It has been noted by experts that increase in the level of pollution and stress makes us look aged. It becomes absolutely essential to protect your skin from those harmful elements. Prevent untimely ageing and try to follow some basic rules in order to protect your skin. And as they say ‘beautiful skin is in’.
Pollutants, sun and even wind can damage your skin. So you need to prevent damage. Most of us complain about sagging, color changes in the skin, wrinkles and itchy skin. Proper diet, regular exercise and a stress-free life will help you to have healthy skin. Even your skin needs good diet. Experts have agreed that proper sleep in the night and good nutritious food can help to prevent untimely ageing. Make sure that the skin has all the essential elements like vitamins, nutrients and minerals. One should always drink a lot of water. This helps in the detoxification process helping to retain the healthy glow of the skin. Skin care is absolutely essential as none of us want to see those wrinkles close to our eyes.
The ultraviolet rays of the sun cause a lot of damage to the skin. The effect of radiation leads to wrinkles, and age spots. The harmful ultraviolet rays can also lead to fatal consequences like cancer. Experts and beauty therapist will recommend a good sunscreen with a minimum SPF or Sun Protective Factor for both men and women before they go out. Even a moisturizer with SPF 15 can be a good option. Skin should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Dry skin is a common phenomenon in old age. Certain cosmetics and medications contain harmful chemicals which causes our skin to dry up.
You should never apply harsh soaps on your skin. A good option is to take a sponge bath in warm water. This will not only clean the dirt from the skin pores but also helps in reviving the skin. It has been recommended by experts that all of us should apply moisturizer after each bath. If the skin feels rough in certain regions, there should be a generous application of moisturizer on those particular areas. Our hands and face are exposed to maximum sunlight every day. So take good care of your hands and face. Most beauty therapists suggest a skin care routine.
This need not be elaborate, but if you do a few simple things like cleaning, toning, moisturizing and occasional scrubbing, you will find that the skin remains healthy. However the routine will mainly depend on your skin type and nutritional needs. The basic thing about skin care is to wash your skin. Those who have sensitive or dry skin should only use warm water. A mild natural cleanser along with warm water can be a good combination. Those who have oily or normal skin should go for the gentle cleanser.
Just like your skin needs cleaning, it also needs moisturizing. If you have dry skin, then it should be moisturized daily in order to hydrate the skin. The moisturizer acts as the food for skin. We often suffer under the misconception that because the skin becomes dry during the winter months, it needs special care. But even in summer months, the skin needs a good amount of moisturizer to keep it healthy. If your skin is healthy it will glow automatically. You do not need an extra dose of cosmetics to make your face extra pretty.
