Acne is just about the most annoying skin condition known to man. Mild acne, moderate acne, severe acne - it disrupts our social lives in so many different levels that we sometimes can't wait to get rid of it. And since it's already established that popping a zit is a no-no, then we have to resort to other methods, like the use of creams and lotions. Unfortunately for us, creams and lotions aren't exactly the cheapest things in the market. In fact, some of the best and most effective anti-acne products can be worth a small fortune. So really, if you don't want to burn a hole through your wallet, then steering clear of the anti-acne products in the market is the wisest thing to do. Try these home remedies first and see if they work for you.

Vinegar

It has long been established that vinegar is a very effective antibacterial. It's also a substance that helps get rid of excess oils on the skin. However, for all its good points, vinegar really does smell horrid. A bit of sacrifice is necessary, though, if you want good results. Just use apple vinegar because it's mild and not as stinky as the other types. Dilute 1 tablespoon of it in 8 tablespoons of water and then use it as a cleanser. You can do this everyday until your acne clears.

Lemon Juice

Like vinegar, lemon juice also helps get rid of excess oil and bacteria. Just get a piece of lemon, slice it in half and then rub it into your face. Leave it on for the whole night and then just wash it off in the morning.

However, in using acidic substances in getting rid of your acne, take note that they may cause excess dryness, so be sure to use a moisturizer.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of the most commonly used home remedies for acne. It cleans and revitalizes the skin quite effectively. Preparation is simple, just boil it in water for a few minutes, let it cool, and then apply it on your face. Leave it on like a mask for 10 - 15 minutes and then wash it off with water.

Vitamin B5

Vitamin B5, or pantothenic acid, has long been proven to be exceptional in helping to control acne. Just eat foods that are rich in it such as fish, liver, sunflower seeds, eggs, and poultry. Include them in your daily diet.

Egg White

Another popular home remedy for acne is egg white. It can absorb excess oil and it can exfoliate the skin. Just apply it as you would a facial mask and then wait for 10 - 15 minutes, then wash it off.

The tips provided in this article are proven to help control and clear acne, so give them a try today!
