One of the most frustrating things about acne is that they sometimes leave scars. Even when you don't pick on them, they can still leave those glaring red spots. Don't fret, though. They're not really scars yet. Actually, they will only really be classified as scars if they're still there after a year. That red bump you see is nothing more than a remnant of the inflammation caused by the pimple. If all goes well, it should disappear after a while. There are, however, ways in which you can shorten this period and reduce the risk of it developing into a scar.
Cucumbers and Tomatoes
Cucumbers and tomatoes works wonders on a salad. But did you know that they can also work wonders if you apply them on your face? Indeed, tomatoes are great antioxidants and they also strengthen the skin and help prevent damage. Cucumbers, on the other hand, give a cooling sensation and thus soothe inflamed and irritated skin. These two can also help tighten the skin's pores. Basically, what you need to do for this method is to blend them together by mashing them and adding water. This will give you a paste-like substance. Wash your face and then, once it's clean, apply the paste. Just leave it on for 25 minutes and wash it off thoroughly.
Ice
Another thing that you can do is to rub some ice on your face. All you have to do is to take some ice cubes and place them in a paper towel or a plastic bag. Then, just leave it on your face for a few minutes and then take it off. Count 20 seconds before reapplying it. Repeat this process for a few times. Note that doing this can be a bit uncomfortable because of the cold. But if you can bear with it, then it's one of the methods that work fast. Ice can dim the red spots as well as the scars quite quickly because it contracts the pores.
Sandalwood
A popular method for getting rid of scars is by using sandalwood. It can reduce skin irritation because it provides a nice cooling effect for the skin. Basically, what you need to do is to mix black gram along with the sandalwood and then rose water or milk. Don't just use normal water for the base, milk and rosewater is infinitely better. You will be able some sort of paste that you will have to put on your face and leave it on overnight. When you wake up, wash it off with cool water.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is one of the most effective cures for scarring. All you need to do is get a vitamin E capsule or oil, and rub it on the affected area. This should get rid of the scars in just a few days.
