Thus, it is safe to say, that its energy consumption is far more heavier than a refrigerator. However, the energy consumed can be lowered by sixty percent by using a foam mattress pad, that is, if you are not going to heat the water to suit the body temperature.
There are two types of waterbed: hard-sided and soft-sided. Since there are hard-sided waterbeds comes in different sizes, it makes it harder to look for bedsheets to fit them and also, there a only a select variety available. On the other hand, the soft-sided ones come in conventional sizes,
Moving a waterbed requires a lot of time and effort. Before you can move it, you must first drain the water and disassemble the frame. After the movement, you again have to assemble the frame and fill the bed with water. It takes hours and even days at that for the new water to get warmed according to the right temperature required.
Water leakage also poses a problem. This is one reason why some rental apartments and houses restrict the use of furnitures that are filled with water. Concerns of damage caused by water to these dwellings is the foremost reason.
The waterbed's weight can be a strain to many floor boards.
