As we all know that Windows Live Messenger is a pesky MSN product, whose former title is Windows Messenger. It always comes pre-installed on our computers, no matter it is XP or Vista. It is a product that makes our life convenient and nearer.

A month ago, I installed the latest version Windows Live Messenger 9.0 on my computer, and it was not working well. Then I decided to uninstall it from my computer. I was told that I could uninstall it easily from the Control Panel but problem was there was no program named Windows Live Messenger listed there. Last, I went to the directly delete its folder from my C drive. But whenever I tried to reinstall other version of Windows Live Messenger, I was prompted that there was still a version on my computer. It was necessary for me to uninstall the current version before the reinstallation.

When searching the internet, I know that the Windows Live Essentials appeared on the Add/Remove Programs list was the umbrella uninstaller for Windows Live Messenger. I was so glad to see this. But I was too rushing to celebrate. There is no response when I clicked on the "Change/ Remove" button. So frustrated!

Then I went to Yahoo Answer hoping that I could get some help, from which I got lots of advice to solve the problem. I hoped that I was an expert on the computer so that I could solve the problem by modifying or deleting some associated registry entries. But I wasn’t. What impressed me so much was, I didn’t know who, gave me a link telling that I might get some useful uninstall instructions there. After going that, I found that it provided us detailed instructions on how to uninstall different programs with an uninstaller named Perfect Uninstaller. First I was not quite convinced on this program, but after viewing several examples, I found that it was so easy to uninstall programs with this uninstaller, no matter with the "Uninstall" or "Force Uninstall" function. Therefore, I decided to give it a try.

After running it on my computer, I was very glad to see that the Windows Live Messenger was listed in its "Display Name" list. Because of the previous knowledge of this program, after highlighting it, I clicked "Uninstall" button to begin the removal and was very surprised to see that the uninstall process finished within only about two minutes with the gone of all the entries in the drives and the registry for I was able to see the process in scanning this two parts.

After the uninstallation process, I went to reinstall the version on my computer and no error message popping up. Now I have used this uninstaller for a much longer time, and just wanted to share my pleasant experience here, hoping that it can do you some help if you have the same problem as mine.
