During the winter season, natural hair care requires some change and It also requires a little extra attention to the elements of the weather that can harm your hair. The harsh cold and frosty winds can cause excessive dryness and dandruff, and if you don't retain or replenish the moisture in your hair, damage will soon follow. The best way to combat this is by protecting the hair. During the winter, I never leave out of my house without my hair being covered. I generally wear a satin or silk scarf under my winter hat to preserve the style as well as prevent direct contact with the harsh material most hats are made of. Rest assured, with a few great winter hair care tips, you will keep that mane healthy all year long.
While treating your hair from the outside is great, it is also important to take steps to strengthen and soften it from the inside. Vitamins like A, C, E, and various B vitamins can all help improve hair quality. The best is to eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and "good" fats, but you can boost your hair (and your health) by adding a daily multivitamin.
After showering, conditioning and reconditioning, carefully brushing our hair evens out the natural oils and spreads the conditioner evenly through hair. Harsh brushing techniques can lead to hair breakage. Protecting your hair from winter weather conditions does not always have to employ chemicals. Feeding your hair healthy oils, from avocado and jojoba, will naturally increase the moisture levels and moisture retention of hair.
Winter can ruin your personal appearance when it comes to choosing an incredible and stylish hairdo and dry flaking scales of skin start "snowing" of your head as a result of dandruff, causing persistent scaling or itching of the scalp. Apply dandruff shampoo to your hair when you are not suffering from dandruff is also a good preventative measure.
Most of the people i have seen do lots of over shampooing and some under conditioning as they feel it will prevent their hair from damaging but its just opposite it damage the hair more. They actually make your hair dry and frizzy hair, so I recommend shampooing two to three times a month. Also make sure you wash your hair with lukewarm water since hot water makes the hair dry.
While your hair dresser will likely use conditioning treatments, it is also important to regularly put a leave in conditioner yourself at home. Depending on how dry or oily your hair is, you may like to do this once or even twice a week. There are some great conditioners on the market; some only need be left in the hair a few minutes to work wonders.
