Many people believe that a refurbished notebook is a second hand notebook. Well this just isn’t true. In this article I will be telling you exactly what a refurbished notebook is.
The main reason that people believe that refurbished notebooks are second hand is because of the price. Just because these notebooks are competitively priced very low doesn’t mean that they have been used before. In fact, the only time these notebooks have seen daylight is when they are checked before they are sold on. These checks usually involve making sure that all parts of the notebook are working such as the screen, drives, systems and components. These checks are done by professionals and give you peace of mind that everything is working correctly. Once these checks have been done, they are ready to be sold.
Refurbished notebooks come straight from the manufacturer and big brand names such as Dell and Toshiba sell their excess notebooks and cancelled orders to external companies. These companies then go on to check them and repackage them. These big brand names use only the best components and hardware which means that you can be sure you are getting a high spec notebook when buying their brand. A refurbished notebook is a great way to save money and still buy a high quality notebook. Some of these refurbished notebooks may simply be end of line stock. Companies make more money on their newer stock and have to make sure they have enough shelf space for these new products. Because of this they usually decide to sell off their end of line stock to private companies. This end of line stock is not necessarily old but simply not as up to date as the company would like. These private companies sell these notebooks on as refurbished only after they have checked them thoroughly to make sure that everything is working properly. This also applies to excess stock that is held in the manufacturer’s warehouse. These manufacturers see shelf space as very expensive and have little need to fill them up with stock they won’t sell. They usually try to sell this stock on for a very small price so by the time you get to buy it you can get up to 60% off the retail price of that notebook.
If you are looking for a new notebook but don’t think that your budget will stretch to a top of the rage model then why not try looking at some refurbished notebooks to save you both time and money. You will be surprised at how good the quality of these notebooks really are.
