Earthquakes are one of the most frequent, dangerous and serious natural disasters. There are almost 10,000 earthquakes every year in Southern California; therefore nearly every day there is an earthquake. Although most of them go undetected ranging in magnitudes of 2 to 3, earthquakes can create and leave devastating effects on people, buildings, spread disease, soil contamination and destroy the affected communities at large (as we saw in California with the desolation to the San Fernando Valley as a result of the Northridge earthquake).
Fortunately in the United Sates we have the tools and knowledge to help protect those who live in these "earthquake zones." We can protect our communities by reinforcing our buildings and homes that will aid in the prevention of the destruction of communal structures and the personal well being of individuals.
The recent earthquake in Haiti has left the country in ruins, due to a lack of financial and economic resources that to help to build stronger structures to protect the area from such natural disasters. By examining the losses felt in Haiti of those affected, it seems now more than ever, we must prepare for the future and our own well being by taking advantage of the technology, information and financial resources as a country and as individuals.
Julian Construction has been repairing and constructing over 6,600+ foundations in California, and from start to finish, licensed and expert managers oversee all projects, ensuring perfection, timeliness and safety.
As California residents it’s imperative that our structures are protected from such disasters. Sometimes you do not need a new foundation, but you have breaks in your foundation due to prior earth movement, age or even poor drainage. Left unchecked and uncorrected, these breaks in the foundation and stem wall can lead to additional cost and, in many cases, pose a risk to your structure.
Earthquakes happen every day in California, and many predict that California will have another large one in magnitude in the near future. Therefore, instead of waiting for the next big one to happen, we need to learn from the recent devastation in Haiti and use the resources we have to protect our communities. At Julian Construction you’re working with experts, who have been in the business of protecting homes for many years and as a result have helped to save lives and keep communities intact from the devastation of unforeseen natural disasters.
