Their was a need of mobile phones which could do much more then just send and receive calls and texts. Lying on top of the list were internet access and digital organisers were also of paramount importance. The world was going through a technology and IT boom and thus the want to improve mobility had become a incessant need With the booming economy changing the lifestyles of the people involved. The professional life has changed from a 9 to 5 to a 24*7 work centred life.
Hence came in PDAs or Personal Digital Assistants have built their reputation on their ability to accommodate a huge array of functionalities. A PDA can be used as a calculator, clock, calendar, for accessing internet, sending / receiving messages, pictures, videos & emails, typing, word processing, playing games, video recording, making documents and spread sheets and taking the advantage of GPS etc. Almost everything that your desktop computers are capable of handling, but with much greater mobility.
PDA phones had become a staple for every super busy individual/ professional in the market with every one who can afford one buying one.
The new generation PDA phones are the ones called smart phones which come with many more functions and capabilities then their predecessors could ever think of. There are more then 150 million units of smartphones sold every year and the figure is rising every year. The new PDA phones or smartphones are selling like hot cakes in the market with every one wanting one.
With the increasing features of the PDA phones in the market. The rising demand in the market for new features and faster processing has been challenge for scientists and engineers. The technology has been sprinting at break neck speeds moving from strength to strength and also now their are cheap PDA phones in the market as well. PDA phones have become a common product in the market which have a very high demand.
Since the day of the first call received and made, the Mobile Phone have constantly evolved with new technology, repackaging itself with more and more features. PDA Phones (personal digital assistant) are very personal feature rich mobile phones. They have the features of mobile phones as well as a computer, a very deadly combination. PDA's or Personal Digital Assistants are hand held devices that act as computers but are much smaller and lighter then them. For this reason PDA's are also called Pocket computers or Palm Top computers.
