Today we’re going through some of the products from Google labs.But before going into that lets take a look what is Google labs? Google labs are the products,created from the great ideas by Google engineers that aren’t ready for prime time.By showcasing their ideas they get feedback from people and will improve it further.Currently they have 36 products in the category of Android,Apps,Communication,Maps.
1.Aardwork
Aardwork was acquired by Google in recent time.What it does is if you ask any question to Aardwork, it will get the answers from your contacts or network.Once it found the answer you will get it with in no time. In similar way you can answer for any questions with your area of interest.You can change the preference anytime to answer or getting the answer within your friends circle or from friends of friends using Aardwork.You can ask any questions.Few subjects are Travel tips,Music,movie,Book recommendations,Product reviews,Cooking and many more.It can be used with popular programs like Gmail,Twitter,Yahoo Messenger,iphone.
2.City Tours
If you plan for any trip, City tour is the mandatory thing you should check out before leaving.Just visit the site and enter your starting point,City tour will suggest some of the popular destinations near by your place.You can also create & share your favorite places using Mymap.
3.Fast Flip
Fast Flip provides fast & easy overviews of headline pages of top newspapers.It combines quality of print and the web with ability to "flip" through pages online as quickly as flipping through a magazine.It also enables users to follow friends and topics, discover new content and create their own custom magazines around searches.You can choose Recent,Most viewed,recommended,Headlines of the news.Also you can also flip by your preferred section like politics,Business,Sports,Technology,Entertainment,World.
4.Image Swirl
Image Swirl organizes image search results into groups and sub-groups,base on their visual and semantic similarity and presents them in an intuitive exploratory interface.If you click on any image,the images will be organized with related images in the following manner shown in 2nd screenshot.
5.Google Reader
Google reader is one of most popular amongst Google labs and blogger like me.It gives the feeds directly to your Google account.All you need to do is subscribe your favorite feeds,you will get the content in your Google reader account when the site is published their content.You can subscribe any number of sites you want.Sharing & Starring is one of the inbuilt feature in Google Reader.You can also share your important contents with your followers,email somebody you want.So next time if you’re planning to bookmark any of your favorite site don’t do it instead subscribe them in Google reader.Enjoy all the favorite feeds in one page !
