Presently, among all the diseases, interstitial cystitis has become a major reason of worry for millions of people throughout the world. This is actually a health condition that eventually results in recurring pain or discomfort in the surrounding of pelvic region or bladder. The health experts say that the symptoms of the disease vary from person to person. Usually the patients experience problems like tenderness, mild discomfort, pain in the pelvic area or bladder or pressure.
According to the health specialists, the most commonly faced symptoms of interstitial cystitis are a frequent need to urinate, urgent need to urinate, or a combination of both of these symptoms. In the recent times, various scientists have started using the term of Painful Bladder Syndrome or Bladder Pain Syndrome, instead of interstitial cystitis. Because the disease varies so much in severity and symptoms that most of the medical research belief that Cystitis is not a single disease, rather is several diseases.
It has been found that some of the symptoms of cystitis resemble with the symptoms of common bacterial infections, but surprisingly no research has found organisms in the urine of the patients of cystitis. It is also found that the patients of the interstitial cystitis do not respond to the conventional antibiotics available today. That's why the present medical researchers are working hard to understand the reasons of the disease and to find out the most effective treatments of this disease.
In the present time, the researchers of all over the world are giving their maximum efforts to explore the possibility that plays a part in some forms of the disease. Recently, an interesting fact is discovered that interstitial cystitis can affect a mother and a daughter or two sisters, but the dangerous disease doesn't usually run in families.
