You don't have to become an expert, but simply to read up on the problem.
Possible causes:
There are a lot of possible causes of hair loss: stress is a major cause, as are hormonal changes. Hormonal imbalance is another likely cause, a malfunctioning thyroid can result in hair loss. Women will most likely experience hair loss after pregnancy, this is quite normal as hormonal levels are high during pregnancy and after you give birth the falling hormones can result with hair falling out, this will cease when your hormones settle down to their pre - pregnancy levels.
Using a combination of "hair products" can lead to thinning hair, but used correctly, some "hair loss treatments" can help. Also, some "hair dye" can cause hair to fall out. "chemical hair relaxers" ( straighteners) used with "curly hair" can be dangerous to your "hair health". To "grow hair" that is healthy simply stay away from harsh chemicals.
Some medications also can be responsible
There are some medications that can lead to hair loss in females. Some such medications that have been known to cause problems are: anti-depressants, birth control pills, chemotherapy of course, some blood thinners and vitamin A in excessive amounts. Even Estrogen, sometime prescribed to treat hair loss has been implicated in the reverse, causing its loss. When the level of Estrogen is too high, estrogen dominance may occur and one of the symptoms of estrogen dominance is hair loss, so the cure may exacerbate the original problem.
Vitamin C deficiency
A deficiency of vitamin C is not a direct cause of hair loss but it can effect hair formation. Low levels of Vitamin C cause a keratin plug to form and block off the hair canal, it also leads to low iron which can directly lead to hair loss. Vitamin C deficiency leads to scurvy, sub clinical scurvy can be a major cause of hair falling out - take 2,000 to 5,000 mg of Ascorbic acid powder per day in 3 equal amounts to restore your system levels of Vitamin C to normal, just maybe your hair loss problems will disappear just as fast.

Mineral Deficiency
A calcium and magnesium imbalance can also contribute. Also a deficiency in these minerals including zinc effects "hair nourishment". A lack of these minerals can result in hair falling out.
Diseases
Hair loss can be an early sign of disease, it is important to consult your Doctor if you experience hair loss.
Hair loss in a woman is generally self repairing. If you have been pregnant, it's probably nothing to worry about; your body will get back to normal after wards. If you cannot find a reason for your hair loss, consult your health care provider to rule out the possibility of disease.
Healthy "hair growth" comes from eating a healthy diet containing: omega 3 fats, dark green vegetables, legumes, nuts, eggs, whole grains, carots and low fat dairy products. So, you see, with a little bit of knowledge gleaned from the Internet, or E books, you stand a good chance of treating your hair loss problem successfully yourself and save loads of money.
