Building a brand identity is a long and sometimes expansive strategy. Businesses are advised to act wisely upon such strategies and plan a head. However, sometimes a failing strategy or a new idea could make any business review their plans. At that time they could decide that they need to rebrand their image all over. Then they hire designers and agencies to do the job, small businesses that do not have much resources can decided to act on their own and hire logo design service providers to change their logos, their brochure designs and even the web design.
Rushing through such decisions could be destructive and sometimes may result adversely. Pressurizing professionals to create designs quickly may result into ineffective ideas getting implemented. For example let's focus on a logo design. A quickly designed logo might look ok to some, but considering the importance of a logo design in the making of a brand identity, perhaps it would be best if a logo designer is given enough to come up with something that is right.
But then the important question is how time is good enough for a right logo design?
It depends on several factors such as the capabilities and creativity of the artists you have hired. On the other hand the capabilities and creativity of the artists can be further charged up by providing them information about your business, what you do and how you want to be looked at. Sharing your previous logo design or your company's previous artwork might help them speed up the procedure. Collaborating with the designers will also give you an insight into how your business is perceived by others and increases the chances that you will get some bright new ideas for future marketing plans.
Once your logo design provider has started to produce samples for your approval, you need to decide which one of these samples is the right one. Remember the aim of a better logo design is to represent your business positively and more clearly with an aesthetic sense and style. Your logo should symbolize your business values, your company mission and qualities. A good logo design helps you gain customer trust and loyalty. Also you need to make sure that your logo design fits everywhere. Visualize these samples inside your office premises, on your stationary, on your business card and in your ad and marketing campaigns. Does it look good? If yes then you have found the right combination. You also need to discuss with your designer that your logo design should be scalable so that it could get printed and displayed on all sort of mediums such as cards, plastic, mugs, tv, internet, etc.
We have discussed the qualities of the right logo design but how do you recognize a bad one? A bad logo design is the opposite of a good logo design. A bad design would fail to represent your business and to deliver your message. It damages your business image and sends your customers away. A bad logo design would look similar to other logo designs and your customers would feel that they had seen it somewhere before. It would be uninteresting, and sometimes it could be provocative, controversial or even offensive to viewers.
