If you are very particular about the way your dress, have a keen sense of fashion, don’t settle for anything less than the best and can afford to spend a good amount on your clothing, then designer jeans are the thing for you. What makes designer jeans so special is their exclusiveness. Designer jeans are a symbol of affluence and class. Celebrities and business tycoons are often seen sporting designer jeans. Each one of us covets that chic look that makes a person stand out.
Designer jeans first came in style when the Nakash brothers brought out their line, called Jordache, in 1978. The first line was of women’s jeans and it was soon followed by a men’s line. Designer jeans came in a range of sizes and typically bore the insignia of the designers on the pockets. The market for designer jeans flourished throughout the 1980s with designers like Calvin Klein, Sasson, Gloria Vanderbilt and Sergio Valente launching their fashion lines. They were advertised extensively and gained immense popularity. For instance, Gloria Vanderbilt promoted her line of designer jeans with the catchy punchline ‘a million-dollar look’ and the Jordache line was advertised as saying ‘You've Got the Look’. The heyday of designer jeans ended with the 1980s. However, the new millennium has seen the resurgence of designer jeans with the rise of brands like Seven for All Mankind, Rock N’ Republic and True Religion. The older brands like Jordache and Calvin Klein are bringing out new lines of designer jeans.
Though a pair could cost you a fortune, designer jeans are worth every penny. Once you buy a pair from a famous designer’s line you can rest assured that the quality of the material, the wash and the shape would be first-rate.
