Warranty is a written guarantee of the integrity of a product and it is maker's responsibility to repair or replace it in the case of its defective parts. More precisely it protects the consumer from purchasing a defective product. There are two types of warranties i.e. pro-rated and non-pro rated. If the product is found to be defective. Pro- rated warranty decrease the replacement value every year that the product has been used until reaching the maximum life of the warranty whilst non –pro rated covers full replacement value of mattress If it is found to be defective.

Warranties vary in the number of years i.e. 20yrs, 10yrs, 5yrs and 1 year etc. Warranty is offered on durable commodities because such goods are not purchasable after every second day. Any impairment to the product by customer’s negligence is not included in the product’s warranty. You can increase the longevity of your mattress warranty by followings few guidelines;

• Using the mattress in an improper manner shortens the longevity of the most warranties.

• Do not use a knife or scissors to open the tightly compressed plastic packaging of your new memory foam mattress.

• Air out your new mattress near a fan or open window.

• Let the unfolded mattress sit for 1 to 2 days to fully relax and take shape.

• If you are using memory foam mattress topper then it is better to rotate and turn it 2 or 3 times a week for the first month you use it and use a stain proof cover to protect your warranty. But if by mistaken you stain your mattress or mattress topper the warranty is annulled. In this case use a spray bottle to dampen the stained area. Mix a mild detergent with the water and spray on it. The detergent should not include any bleaching ingredient as it may damage the mattress. Soak the mattress only when needed. Gently brush the stained area using a sponge. The stains will not totally come off easily but it helps get rid of it a bit. Scrub gently until the surface stains comes off.

• Strictly avoid placing the memory foam in the washer or dryer, as it breaks apart the foam particles.

• Clean your mattress by vacuuming debris with a vacuum hose.

In short warranty is no guarantee if you are careless; Security can only be obtained by a scheme by which you care the product.
