In early fall of 2006 I was seriously considering establishing a promotion which I thought would provide great benefit to home makers. On a whim, laughingly I got this idea of cleaning the carpet in all kid size bedrooms at no cost to our customers. As you might guess, I quickly dismissed the idea as pure insanity. I convinced myself almost instantly, without thought or calculation, that there was no way we could risk cleaning the carpet in every small bedroom - in every home - at absolutely no cost. No way. Crazy. Forget about.

Yet, this crazy idea just would not go away. I just kept thinking about it, day in and day out.

Months later I decide to put numbers to the concept. Here's the thing. I have serviced commercial facilities in varying capacities for 22 years. But, admittedly I was new to the residential carpet cleaning business. Here is what I noticed.

When I consider the varying sizes of homes that we serviced - homes of less than 1,000 square feet to homes of over 4,000 square feet - I found no signification difference in the size of most small bedrooms. Plus, the vast majority of homes had relatively small amounts of exposed carpet in those small bedrooms if they were furnished. Again, I'm kinda green at this but I considered the amount of time it took our technician to clean three small bedrooms, noting that with our process each of two or more technician operates their own individual piece of equipment. That means two carpet cleaning machines - unlike traditional methods which use one hose and one technician to do all of the work.

As you must realize, I cannot divulge production rates or other particulars here. What I can tell you is this.
