Well if you don’t already know all about the television block buster "Desperate Housewives" then it is definitely is the time that you do. Well this is a series which was launched in 2004 by ABC networks in the United States went on to becoming the highest watched television show in the world and won the Emmy, Screen Actors Guild Award and the Golden Globe Awards in the year 2007.

This show has made Wisteria lane in the fictional Eagle State and narrates the story of a group of women in living on the street. It charts several incidents in Wisteria Lane through its several domestic struggles, murders and secrets and their family lives and what is going on behind their doors.

This show’s narrative pans out as a series of flashbacks as narrated by a deceased neighbor on Wisteria lane. Brenda Strong narrates as the dead neighbor as Mary Alice Young. Baring the dead neighbor, this show has an ensemble cast which has now become television icons all around the world. Teri Hatcher plays the part of Susan Mayer; Felicity Huffman plays Lynnette Scavo; Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp and Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis.

There has now been aired for five full seasons and now is being telecast for the record sixth season which showed events which happened fie years after the last season. The story takes a number of plot twists and several mysteries and affairs like the recent one with Bree and Karl which ended tragically. The seventh season is supposed to air soon and is eagerly awaited for.

As the seasons were aired, the third was voted as the critic’s favorite by a wide margin in terms of its quality and ratings but the fourth had more staying power averaging at around 18.2 million viewers. By that time, this show grew to become the third most watched television show in the world after CSI and Lost.
