We learn all the time how conventional sources of power are being run down and that something is required to be done to provide renewable green energy. The stark idea you get after watching Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth is that we need to reduce our use of fossil fuel based energy production. The penalty otherwise will be some genuine and irreversible harm to the natural environment, mainly in terms of climate change and contamination.
The unrelenting use of nuclear power and fossil fuels presents plain dangers to the natural environment so it is a first-class idea for us to be making the most if renewable green power technologies. Renewable green power technologies are being developed at a rapid rate and we must comprehensively examine all of them. Fossil Fuel reserves are finite, significantly, the renewable energy sources of solar, wind and water have power reserves that far outnumber the existing amounts of fossil fuels left. We need to find ways to get through a lesser amount of damaging fossil fuels, because this is the only way that we will have any ecosystem left.
The increased use of renewable green energy technologies will help to protect our ecosystem against irreversible harm that may arise from our sustained use of fossil fuels. Scientists concur that accelerated global warming is in progress and it is our human activities that have caused much of the problems and damage. The planet obtains it heat from the suns rays while greenhouse gases such a carbon dioxide multiple this by trapping the heat in the atmosphere. Accelerated global warming has been created by the burning of fossil fuels like wood, coal and oil, this releases carbon dioxide, one of the main greenhouse gases. This in itself, doesn’t sound too awful does it? We’d all like to reside somewhere a little warmer and a bit more sun! With our actions of wiping out rain forest, animal and plant life, we have lessened the ability of the natural world to recuperate to near breaking point. The consequence of our actions has been to worldwide reduce the size of ice sheets and glaciers, warming of polar areas and causing deadly heat waves and floods.
By taking advantage now of renewable green energy technologies such as solar power and wind energy, we will be assisting in helping to minimizing the effect of accelerated global warming because the volumes of fossil fuels being used will be considerably cut. Solar energy is a renewable and sustainable resource that utilizes the suns radiation to produce energy. Technologies presently exist that allow buildings to be designed to take advantage of passive solar characteristics that allow solar energy to supplement their heating and lighting requirements. Currently, lowering homeowner’s carbon footprints and heating bills can be achieved by using small domestic solar collectors that produce hot water or electricity. Climate change is a global issue so we all should contribute and take benefit of renewable green power.
Utilizing energy efficient principles to design homes can lower the amount of fossil fuels used to generate lighting and heating. Natural Light is let into the house during the colder months by utilizing large windows, screens help cool the rooms in summer time and outdoor lighting uses solar panels. To put a stop to the loss of surplus heat to the environment, you can put in wall and loft cavity insulation as well as a solar powered hot water system. To ensure that we have a greener and cleaner future free of damaging pollutants we all need to be taking steps to reducing our use of fossil fuels by using renewable green power.
