Finding Motivation to Exercise

Finding the motivation to exercise could mean the difference between actually getting your workout in, and just letting it go for yet another day. The problem is that the more time that passes between sessions, means a better chance that you'll stop working out altogether, at least for awhile. You may not have a lot of time in the first place to devote to your own health, which can make it even harder to adjust to a consistent exercise regimen.
The good news is that there are many ways to find motivation to exercise! Being able to implement just a few of the following suggestions can really put a pep in your step when it comes to working out:
Load up Your MP3 Player and Keep it Fresh
Make sure that you have an iPod or MP3 player full of your favorite music and you will be more inclined to put your workout clothes on. Don't add your favorite slow jams, but instead figure out what songs make you "tick" and stick those puppies right at the front of your music lineup.
The music should be upbeat, positive and make you feel good when you're listening to it. Not only will good music make you motivated to exercise, but it will probably promote a longer workout naturally, making it a double whammer.
Switch up the Workouts
Don't fall victim to the same old exercise regime day in and day out. You'll get so bored it would be no wonder why you're skipping your workouts. For example if you like to run, consider taking on some trails or roads if you usually hit the treadmill. If you are used to driving a half mile away to the store, ride your bike there and back instead.
You can also make a big impact in your overall energy level (which the more you have, the better chance you'll exercise) by simply parking further away from the entrance to the store entrance.
Eat the Right Foods
Eating foods high in nutrients is key to finding the motivation to exercise, because it can provide the energy needed to get the job done easily, and happily. If you don't feed your body enough nutrients before a workout, you will feel lethargic and useless during the exercise. And afterward, you will tell yourself how hard what you just did was. That isn't necessarily a positive way to make sure you are motivated next time you put those gym clothes on.
Great foods to eat pre workout are fruits such as apples, bananas and oranges. You should also take advantage of what complex carbohydrates have to offer and add some brown rice, whole wheat pasta or corn to your daily diet. Green vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, celery, broccoli and cucumbers offer a wide range of antioxidants, and are also a good source of calcium among other nutrients.
Eating a healthy diet, putting together some groovy tunes and switching up your workouts simultaneously will probably result in the best results if you are trying to find the motivation. However, employing even one of these techniques into your daily routine will give you results.
