This article discusses the attractiveness of stamped concrete. The main highlights are what is it exactly, how long has it been around, and what is cost of the product.
Composition
Stamped concrete is concrete that is molded to bear resemblance to tile, stone, wood, brick, etc…. There are 3 measures that are used in stamped concrete that make it unlike any other procedures out there. These 3 things are as follows: (1) the inclusion of an accent color, (2) the inclusion of a base color, (3) and stamping a pattern into the concrete. One can find Stamped concrete being used customarily in driveways, walkway, patios, pool areas, and internal environments. Since this type of concrete has the ability to be able to bear the resemblance of other building materials, this makes it less pricey than using those other materials that were discussed in the beginning of the article. To conclude, it is very resilient as it can stand up to a wide variety of weather conditions as well as places that have a lot of traffic from diverse sources.
History
Stamped concrete has been available since the late 1950’s. It has gained in recognition in the 1970’s and has grown a lot this past decade. The main difference between now and then is that today the home or business owner has many more choices to choose from. Over the years, the industry has developed and so has the technology. Today, there are more stamping patterns and different types of stains that give us a wide variety of options that will allow the designers to create a special style of work each and every job.
Cost Effective?
As in so many things, cost is important to the average consumer. Most concrete contractors know that utilizing this type of concrete is a great way to satisfy the customer without breaking the bank. Simply put, you get a lot for your money with this concrete.
Summary
Stamped concrete offers the consumer a cost effective way to make improvements that they otherwise might not be able to do. It gives the home or business owner the opportunity to make over the area of interest and make it a beautiful work of art. With the amount of driveways, walkways, and patios out there, I am sure that the use of this style of concrete will maintain its growth pattern.
