If there ever is an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, property owners should be prepared and have some sort of defense up and ready to combat the oil once it tires to wash up on shore. If not, oil will come on shore in the form of tar balls and propose a threat to the environment and wildlife as well. No one will want to visit a beach that is littered with tar balls and wildlife could soon die off since it can poison the water and the food supply. However, there are some things property owners can do now that can prevent a lot, if not all, of these things from happening. Installing HESCO® Concertainer® units under the sand of the beach is something property owners have done and it has assisted them in protecting their beaches. The units are a gabion-like basket that works as a wall of protection once they are filled with dirt-like material like sand or crushed rock. They can be joined together with pins and stretch along any beach regardless of how long it is and protect it. Two people can put up a 30-foot tier of the units in under 30 minutes and any oil that comes onshore will meet the units first. They can even be placed in the water and still hold up since they are permeable. oil spills clean up is a lot easier if much of the oil is stopped from infiltrating a beach.
They HESCO® units can be used for multiple purposes such as flood protection, beach erosion and beach nourishment. The U.S. military has used them before when fighting the enemy overseas. Many soldier's lives have been saved thanks to the units. With oil spills clean up, having the units in place makes them more valuable because they will protect the beaches, its wildlife and the business owners who need the beaches to stay open in order to survive economically.
Oil spills clean up efforts can be even easier if you add Enviro Armour™ to the HESCO® units. What it does is transform the oil into a solid that makes oil cleanup easier and less hazardous. Then the oil can be used as asphalt, rubber and other raw materials.
Integrated Protection Systems is working hard to provide the HESCO® units and Enviro Armour™ to property owners who need beach protection. If you need something effective for oil spills clean up, contact them today or log on to www.bp-oil-spills.com.
