Duty free shopping is an ideal setting for international travellers to purchase a range of products at a discounted price. Although duty free shopping is available at many locations worldwide, such as in downtown stores in metropolitan cities and at border stops, one of the most convenient places to make duty free purchases is at international airports. Auckland International Airport in New Zealand’s North Island is no exception, and offers travellers a wide range of products that allow for unbeatable savings to be made by that purchaser.
The term duty free simply refers to the discounted purchase price at which one can buy that particular product. The duty free price is exclusive or any import of local tax usually associated with the particular goods. Normally this import tax or duty, would be included in the overall purchase price and the consumer would be responsible for the entire payment of that product.
There are many products available for immediate purchase with no duty imposed on the product, including but not limited to: various cosmetic goods, fine fragrances for men and women, electronic goods, jewellery and many other luxury items.
When travellers are making purchases in duty free stores they are encouraged to have a prior understanding to what the limitations of purchase are. Each country imposes restrictions on which individuals are able to purchase certain duty free items, and how much of that particular product is able to be purchased at that particular duty free price point. There are clear signs notifying travellers of the restrictions imposed when purchasing duty free at Auckland Airport so that purchases can be made accordingly.
Some of the most popular goods purchased by international travellers through duty free shopping include electronics, confectionery, cosmetic goods and skincare products designed and sold by high end skincare companies and cosmetic houses. It is important to note that travellers who purchase beauty products that contain a liquid content of more than 30mL will be exempt from the 30mL liquid limit as the product is obtained after the initial security check, and is ensured safe by airport security officials.
Whether an individual chooses to purchase cosmetics or exquisite jewellery, there exist many products that will result in a substantial savings made by the traveller, while purchasing their favourite items at a duty free store located at Auckland International Airport. You can also check out your options online prior to your travelling dates.
