Vacation Rental Marketing 101

Vacation rental marketing of your property in Mexico is getting more difficult. You have all of the violence in Mexico and then you have the vacation rental listing companies/websites that list your Mexico property amongst many other vacation rentals which decreases your chances of the prospective traveler choosing and booking yours. There are many different vacation rental listing websites out there to choose from. They come in all shapes, sizes and styles. The one main thing they all have in common is that they group your listing with hundreds of others. Good news though … there is a better way!
You need to separate your listing from the group of others and make yours stand out from the crowd by itself on page one of Google and the other search engines. Here’s an example that demonstrates why you need to do that:
Let’s say you have a vacation home in Acapulco that you are trying to rent. Next, let’s say that there is someone searching Google for "Acapulco vacation rentals."
What do they see when they perform that search? They see page one filled with vacation rental sites where the prospective renter has to first click on the listing website link and then they are taken to the home page of the listing site.
Then they have to click on the country, then click on the area, then click on the city, and then finally they get to look at all the rentals in Acapulco for rent. One of them is yours and they might choose it but they would need to do yet another click to get to it.
That’s at least five clicks to get to your offer from page one. Many times it will be much more than five clicks to get to your offer because the prospective renter may click other offers or get side tracked by news or information before they get to your offer.
You need to make your vacation rental profile (videos, articles, newsletters, press releases, photos, etc.) stand out from the crowd. Here’s how to do it.
You will get results by distributing all of your media content to over 90 websites online. Start by taking your media and submitting it to about 35 video sharing sites, 24 social bookmarking sites, about 12 social networking sites, approximately 12 blogs, about half a dozen podcasts and about 12 podcast directories.
When you do all that the search engines gobble up all of that content. That's because video is the most popular content on the web today. And when you mix video with social networking, social bookmarking, blogs, press releases and podcasts you get great results.
Sound like a lot of work? It is but it is well worth it. In all my research I have found one vacation rental website that has their own in-house marketing consultants and they will tell you how to do it for yourself … all for free. No catches.
Or, if you prefer, they will do all of the work for you and show you the results on page one of Google and the other search engines without requiring that you pay any money up-front. They do charge for their service if you want to get all of your media on page one but only after you actually see the results. No money is required up front at all. The name of the website is Mexiconnection.com.
