Buying the perfect ticket to a theatre show can be a challenge. It is often hard to tell whether you have paid a lot for a mediocre ticket, or if you have thought you have found a bargain with a very cheap ticket, only to find out that the reason it was so cheap is because there is a metal pole blocking half of your view. Careful consideration should go into your decision for which tickets to buy when booking to see Dreamboats and Petticoats, or any other upcoming show at the Playhouse Theatre, to ensure that your evening at the theatre is as pleasant as can be. So which are the best seats in the auditorium?
The Playhouse Theatre is located by the River Thames and Trafalgar Square in the heart of London. Opening under its present name in 1907, the theatre has a fairly small seating capacity, with room to sit 786 people on three levels. The seating levels are the Stalls, which are on the ground floor and are closest to the stage, the Dress Circle which hangs above the Stalls, and the Upper Circle, the highest seating area in the auditorium.
The best seats in the Stall section are central seats in the middle rows. There is also plenty of legroom here. Most of the seats in the Stalls are great as the theatre is rather small, yet you should definitely try to opt for these first, as the front few rows feel a little too close to the stage.
Central seats in the front couple of rows are the best seats in the Dress Circle, and the second row is possibly the best due to the proximity to the stage and the extra leg room.
The front few rows are the best seats in the Upper Circle, although the first row has little legroom. People afraid of heights back wish to avoid the back of this section as the rake is extremely high and you will feel very far away from the stage.
Looking at a Playhouse Theatre seating plan will further help you decide where you want to sit on a visit to the theatre, but the seats mentioned here should definitely be considered as they offer the best views in the auditorium.
