Front Sight is a firearms training facility that is locates in Pahrump, Nevada. It is owned and founded by Ignatius Piazza. Pleasanton, California is the hometown of Ignatius Piazza. Ignatius traveled around the United States and lectured about how his home was a victim of a drive-by shooting. Without any formal training, Ignatius said that the firearms he owned served him no purpose. He needed to know how to properly and effectively use his firearms defensively. He wanted to learn how to use his firearms to the best of his ability. Ignatius saw that he was not hte only one who did not understand how to properly defend himself with their firearms and decided that he wanted to teach others. Because there were no courses that taught how to use a firearm on a comprehensive level, Front Sight was created. He wanted to make sure that everyone knew how to properly use their weapons. He opened in April of 1996 and his main goal for Front Sight was to "positively change the image of gun ownership in our lifetime". Front Sight was drawn up for an extreme expansion in 1998. Ignatius is currently working to build a 550 acre facility outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. In terms of training, Front Sight is one of the premier schools in nation. They pride themselves in providing the best for their students. Students are trained in a safe and responsible environment. This allows students to feel comfortable and experience the freedom of knowing they are equipped with the skills they need to properly and effectively use their firearm. When compared to individuals who carry weapons for a living, the skills from students from Front Sight far exceeds their knowledge and abilities. Front Sight currently trains more students each year than all of the other shooting and firearm training schools in the United States combined. Students have stated time and time again that their training at Front Sight was superb. Many are extremely satisfied with the skills they have learned. The skills and knowledge that students obtain from Front Sight are unmatched. Many state that their lives have been changed for the better after their training. Ignatius Piazza now offers free training for up to three teachers or administrators at any school in the United States and also offers free firearm training for any teacher, administrator, or other school staff member designated as school safety monitor in the United States. In response to the 1999 high school shooting at Columbine and the 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech, Ignatious decided to offer free courses for those who wanted. He also offers free firearm training for all airline pilots via his "Arm Our Pilots Campaign". This is done in response too and with the hopes that there will never again be another September, 11th.
