Exams can cause stress and revision is not always the most fun a person can have. Students, therefore, tend to postpone studying until it is nearly too late.
Some children don't enjoy the traditional ways of learning and schools are so busy with so many tasks to complete that even if they want to, it is difficult to always make lessons exciting. Most teachers just struggle to finish all the work before the exams start,
Revision doesn't have to be a nightmare and there are ways to make it more fun. If children associate revision with fun from a young age there will be no need for exam stress as the child will be fully prepared for the exam. Most of the time stress is caused by the fact that the students are not well prepared because they started studying too late.
Too make revision fun is quite a tough call but with the Internet anything is possible these days. Many companies have started online revision programs. The aim of most of these programs is to make revision fun. By using games as part of the revision process the child will not see it so much as revision but rather a chance to play the games. If this is done from a young age, older children will see the value of revision and later on the games will become less important and the ability to do the questions and score good marks in tests will become the focus.
Seeing the results displayed can give them a confidence boost or it can be a motivation to try harder for better results.
Regular revision of subjects is the only way to see if a child really understands a subject and it gives ample opportunity to assist the child before it is too late. These programs track the progress of the child which can be invaluable to parents.
Most programs allow for a free trial period so parents can test the program for their child's specific needs.
