With all the foods that we eat we are bound to ask ourselves if it is adding fat to our bodies. Everyone wants to stay as healthy as possible and we do this by checking the food that we eat. The good news it that, there are actually some foods that will function the other way. That is by helping us to loose the belly fat. These foods are divided into three groups which are;
Proteins or thermogenic foods
We require energy for the decomposition of foods in our bodies. It is said that a one gram of fat will produce nine calories. A gram of carbohydrate will produce four calories while a gram of protein will produce four calories. Therefore, if we reduce the intake of fat in our diet it will be useful to our bodies. It is good to know that protein increases the metabolic rate- Basal Metabolic Rate. This means more calories will be burnt by the rate at which the food energy will be used. The protein foods that function thermogenic are foods such as; eggs- without the yolk, fish, tuna, tofu, shrimp, tempeh. Many of the products of soy are also great, chicken which should be eaten without the skin, mackerel tuna and shellfish.
Foods that have negative calories
There are three things that calories will be used for in the body. The first thing is processing of the food. The second thing it will be used for is for the standard calories that are needed for the body in a day so that we can have energy. The recommended number of calories in a day is 2000 calories. The third thing it will be as a reserve. This is what translates to being fat. The term negative calorie is not meant to mean the calories are negative. It means that the calories are very little in the food to meet the required energy. A good example is if a plate of food has 300 calories and only 100 calories is what is used for food processing then the 200 calories remaining will be used for the recommended daily needs and also in the burning of fats. To use this method is better that when fasting because when you stop fasting, all the fat will come back. The negative calories foods are celery, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, seaweed, eggplant, onions, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, papaya, cauliflower. These are mostly vegetables and fruits.
Carbohydrates with insulin
Carbohydrates entering the body are later split into simple compounds forming glucose. Having glucose present in the blood will help trigger release of insulin hormone in the body. Insulin in the body has two functions; storage of fat in the body and controlling of glucose that will act as energy. So what will make your body swell fast is the combination of fatty foods and carbohydrates. The foods with good carbohydrates are brown rice, peas, oatmeal porridge, mushrooms, beans, apples, pears, citrus honey and soy milk. These three groups of food will help in reduction of weight. This will keep that belly fat away.
