LED Tape is the perfect solution for decorative lighting features. It's usefulness and performance make it desired in so many different applications. It can be mounted practically anywhere offering benefits such as blisteringly bright output and next to no heat.
Within a domestic setting it could be used to enhance decorative items or placed around mirrors as a general light source benefiting from intense light output and small operational costs. This would virtually stop the requirement for replacing bulbs as the expected life is likely to be 30 - 50,000 hours. In a domestic setting this works out at over and above 10 years without changing a single light bulb...
Bathroom lighting
Low voltage LEDs are perfect for bathroom illumination. Because most of the transformers or LED drivers are liquid resistant they are great for this application. LED tape is achievable in waterproof versions. Waterproofing can be identified by an IP rating, the IP rating is normally identified by numbers. IP65 is a waterproof rating that allows splashes with water whereas an IP68 rating would allow full submersion upto a certain depth. LED tape comes in both versions.
Kitchen lighting
More and more LEDs are used in kitchens because of the flexible and compact design. Most of the time the use of LEDs is within a kick board, cupboard or installed in a pelmet to light the contents. Innovative design options has increased demand of this new technology allowing for a radiant outlook to kitchen schemes often adding value to the concept. IP rated waterproof LED tape is generally used because the shield coating makes cleaning easier and stops the ingress of fluids damaging the light emitting diodes.
Bedroom lighting
Headboards are great places to use LED tape, the intensity of the LED tape allows for an amibience ideally suited to bedroom interior decoration adding enhanced mood to any room. Most designers would recommend lighting to create desire and add value to any home. Lighting is renowned for its effect on the immediate atmosphere and LED tape is the perfect answer for decorative lighting solutions. Warm white light is ideal when decoration includes golds, browns, creams and earthy colours. Neutral white adds sparkle to more vivid colours of decoration whereby the target colour is to be brought to life such as reds, blues and whites. Neutral white looks amazing illuminating pearl tiles in en-suites.
Exterior lighting
IP rated or waterproof LED tape could be used under brick capping to illuminate exterior garden features like walls. It can also be installed around water features, inside of canopies or used in external seating areas. Using LED as a light source offers many advantages especially in exterior applications whereas harsh conditions can be destructive. The benefits of LEDs and the minimal maintenance associated with them give architects and designers incentive to use lighting in harder to reach places and in contrast areas that are often accessible by the general public where lower voltage, cooler operating solutions are essential.
