We've all heard the expression "The gift that keeps on giving". Wind chimes are truly such a gift. Every time the wind blows that special person will think of you. Now this may not always be a good thing since all wind chimes are not created equal. You will want to make sure that you have selected a wind chime that has been precision tuned. Wind chimes that have been precision tuned are essentially musical instruments that will serenade you with beautiful melodies with each wisp of the wind. Unfortunately there are wind chimes that sound more like pots and pans clanging together and are not particularly pleasing to the ear. So, if you want that special person (and their neighbors) to think of you fondly ever time the wind blows, it is best that you select a wind chime that is precisely tuned.
Wind chimes are great as garden accents, they will enhance any patio, and they can even be used indoors. A small chime placed by a kitchen window will bring a new joy to dish washing. Wind chimes play a big part in the practice of Feng Shui. They are believed to enhance the flow of positive energy "chi" thus promoting a more healthy and harmonious environment. Many also believe that wind chimes can actually have a healing effect on the mind, body and spirit by relieving stress.
It is believed that wind chimes were originally used some 5000 years ago to keep away evil spirits and through history they have been used for such things as predicting the weather, and scaring off unwanted visitors in farmer's fields.
In short, wind chimes are both versatile and timeless gifts which are sure to bring the recipient many years of enjoyment. And you don't need to concern yourself with whether or not they already have a wind chime. In general, precision tuned wind chimes play well together.
Whether it be for a birthday, anniversary, Mother's Day, Christmas, or housewarming gift, a quality wind chime is sure to be a gift they will treasure for a lifetime. And don't forget. Even if for some reason they don't like your gift, well I'm sure you won't have a problem giving it a good home.
