Bathrooms can make or break a home sell. Here are 10 things that should be considered during your bathroom remodel.
- Choose the Appropriate Tile
Glass tile has become very popular over the last 10 years.
- Color
Choose a focal point and an appropriate color to match. Add splashes of vibrant colors with fabric.
- Double Vanities
It's almost essential to have a double vanity or split vanity in your master bathroom and is becoming common in guest bathrooms multiple people may be living in the house.
- Mirrors
Bathroom mirrors come in a variety of shapes and sizes, don't limit yourself to a standard rectangle if you can get away with an oval or framed mirror.
- Sinks
Sinks can tell someone if you are a modern, trendy person, or a traditionalist. Sink bowls can be under mount or sit above the counter top. Choose one that is appropriate with the rest of the style of your bathroom remodel.
- Lighting
Bathroom remodels typically transform your outdated bathroom in to a resort-like spa. Warm colors and mood lighting are becoming the norm. One thing to note is not to make the common mistake of putting recessed lighting above your mirror. It it will cast shadows on your face and make it difficult to apply makeup. Use sconces on the sides of the mirror instead.
- Shower Heads
Shower heads can be used for therapeutic and relaxing atmospheres. A fancy shower head can be a great way to start your morning. Rain heads are popular but often don't apply enough pressure, so choose one based on your needs.
- Steam Showers
These types of showers are great for your skin and lungs. This is common in Phoenix Bathroom Remodels where the air is often dusty and polluted. Steam showers cleanse your dead skin cells providing you with a natural glow.
- Soaking Tubs
Sales continue to rise over the past decade on soaking tubs. This can be another great way to turn your bathroom into a spa.
- Think Green
Green is the buzzword and can green remodeling can be applied in the bathroom as well. Water is a scarce resource in Phoenix so it's important to use water efficient toilets and shower heads. You can even use reclaimed water from your shower and sink to flush your toilets.
