The top home renovation companies in Fargo take dust control as a very serious matter during their projects. Renovation contractors are very concerned about the liveability of their clients when the renovation work is in progress.
Because of the many remodeling contracts that they have completed, they have managed to create best practices on how they control dust during the projects.
Given below are brief descriptions of how they manage to keep the dust off.
#1: Floor Protection
Floor protection is a very important aspect of house renovation. In the last decade, contractors no longer lay rosin paper on the floors to control dust but use non-slip tough fabric roll that has a high amount of absorbency. This helps when paints and varnishes accidentally drip on the floor. It has a thin layer of vinyl at the bottom that protects the floor surface.
In high traffic areas, contractors use a one-fourth-inch Masonite which helps them to handle the tools comfortably. Carpets can be protected by the use of 3 mils self-adhering layer of plastic that is puncture resistant.
#2: Cover the Jobsite
The homeowners need to cover the site in the house where the renovation is taking place. All the furniture can be covered with ploy sheet coverings.
#3: Seal all the ducts
Return ducts all over the house should be covered adequately to keep off fine dust from entering the HVAC systems of the house. This will later cause the dust to spread all over the house. Additionally, if the air filter gets clogged with dust, then the airflow through the furnace becomes sluggish.
#4: Isolate the Jobsite
Sometimes it may happen that the area where the renovation work is going on cannot be closed with a door. It could be an open kitchen or dining area where the renovation work is going on. Whichever be the site, it has to be isolated so that the dust generated is a minimum.
Home remodeling companies in Moorhead make use of modern dust barrier systems to contain the dust. These dust-containing systems create a tight seal along with the ceiling and floor without the use of tape.
