Capturing the essence of the Mangosteen and tapping into its prospective is what Joe Morton, the visionary and co-founder of XanGo has achieved. XanGo LLC, (XAN from the word xanthones and GO from the word mangosteen), is recognized as a category creator and is the first company of its kind in the world to commercialize a premium beverage obtained from the mangosteen fruit. Privately owned and based in Utah, XanGo is catered by a global network of independent distributors. XanGo products are mainly sold in the U.S. and (as of mid-2007) are already being exported to Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Last October 2007,XanGo has lead off operations in Taiwan. XanGo’s distensible international markets also include Germany, Sweden, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Canada.
The idea to exploit the mangosteen fruit’s potential was conceived in 1997, when Joe Morton worked in Southeast Asia when he was offered the fruit and afterwards, he acquired its beneficial properties. What makes this fruit truly incomparable is that it contains Xanthones--a phytonutrient that can only be found in the mangosteen fruit. An amazing anti-oxidant as well, Xanthones protects you from the damaging effects of free radicals. It may also play a big role in the prevention of heart disease and cancer, among other diseases. This allows each XanGo product, ranging from dietary supplements to skin care, to have its unique worthy quality.
XanGo Juice is XanGo’s flagship product. This confection is made up of a blend of Mangosteen aril (attachment point of the seed) and pericarp purée, with juice concentrates of eight other fruits: apple, pear (juice and purée), grape, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and cherry. Pericarp is rich in xanthones that gives the juice a bitter taste. To remunerate the bitterness, these fruit juices were added into the mixture, and this patented formula gives the XanGo juice its unique flavor. However, there are no sugars or artificial sweeteners and artificial colorings added to the XanGo juice blend. The sweetness comes with naturally occurring fructose from the added fruits and the refreshingly sweet and tangy flavor is what gives your taste buds a unique sensation that will keep you coming back for more.
Each XanGo Juice bottle is pasteurized as per government regulation. However, this process does not impede the nutritional efficiency of Xanthones. XanGo juice is safe for consumption by senior citizens, children, lactating and pregnant women because it doesn’t bear any MSG, gluten, vitamin K, sulphur or silicates, and with a pH level of 3.6. There are no known contraindications between the XanGo juice product and other medications in the market. But, just like any other dietary supplement, the limit to the amount of XanGo juice consumed varies from person to person, depending on a number of factors such as body size and body mass index. It is advisable to consult with a physician first before making any drastic changes on your diet.
Another extra ordinary product of XanGo is their patented Pericarp Oil. For centuries, Asian inhabitants fashioned a paste made of the mangosteen fruit’s peel and coconut oil to alleviate their skin conditions. XanGo has now tapped into that resource and come up with their own formula found in the XanGo Pericarp Oil. This oil helps to restore skin to its healthiest state, calming signs of inflammation and stimulating collagen production.
While we’re on the topic of skin care, another exciting fact about it is that XanGo has already taken the beneficial qualities of the mangosteen fruit and harnessed it in order to create their latest family of products. The Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care line. Complete from cleansers, to toners, to creams and moisturizers, Glimpse™ Intuitive Skin Care represents the perfect convergence of nature, time-honored techniques and advanced, customized technology. It is the culmination of decades-long pursuit for optimal skin nutrition. Being the first of its kind, XanGo’s Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care line draws once again on the properties of the mangosteen fruit, deriving its most potent xanthone-rich ingredients, and refining it to give the Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care line its remarkable anti-aging properties. Glimpse Skin Care formula is literally intuitive, and that makes it so glamorously unique. It adjusts to the condition of your skin. The more you use Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care, the better it works for you. XanGo has truly set a new standard with this ground breaking skin care technology, and by following the strict green chemistry standards with the signing of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics, you are guranteed performance-based nutrition and skin care without the use of damaging toxins.
More than just a company, XanGo has not turned a blind eye to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Their humanitarian program XanGo Goodness strives to raise social consciousness and mobilize XanGo's global resources to serve, support and improve communities in need. Sweeping four contients, from Asia to South America, XanGo Goodness has partnered up with respectable charitable organizations to provide monetary donations, advisory board participations, volunteer programs and partnerships in medical missions and community education.
What XanGo has achieved surpass the boundaries of distance, economy, industry and science. Blessed with the discovery of this fruit by Joe Morton, XanGo has made a cognisant choice, the choice of not only creating a category, but of doing it the right way. XanGo Is a juice of life indeed!
