Stones have been used by humans for many years and for several purposes. Men during Stone Age period made use of this mineral to make stone tools and weapons for hunting and safety purposes, the fire was also invented by Stone Age man by rubbing two stones. As the time passed and new inventions took place, the purpose of using stones also increased. Now in this modern age stone is being used as construction material or house adorning product. There are different types of natural stones that are being used like granite, limestone, marble, cobble etc. These are most commonly known as commercial stone but of late the trend of using these natural stones as the flooring has increased. People have also started preferring houses built of stones (architectural stone).
Stones have been in use since the ancient period, the only difference in today’s period is the style and trend of stone. They are carved or designed as per the requirement to give the artistic appearance. Stone is the wonderful material for floors, it has gained tremendous demand because of its natural beauty and durability. Different types of stones are used for different purposes like commercial stones are used for kitchen countertops and floorings.
Most commonly granite is being used as the countertop as it is not sensitive to heat. It is also resistant to bacteria, it is durable and very difficult to scratch or chip. Marble is also one type of commercial stone, it is softer than granite so it cannot be used in the kitchen. Marble is mostly being used as floorings because of its decorative and shiny looks. These stones are also used for patio and can be installed around the swimming pool.
Houses are most commonly built by concrete bricks but nowadays people are opting for architectural stone to build a house to make it look beautiful and unique. The house built by architectural stone is stronger and more beautiful compared to the concrete blocks.
Buildings or a house built by stones lasts for a long time. You must have seen the historical structures like Petra of Jordan, pyramid of Giza, Machu Pichu, Great wall of China, Colosseum, Christ the Redeemer, and Chichen Itza the most famous historic structure and wonders of the world that are still standing steady without any major damage. Likewise the house built by an architectural stone increases the durability and the beauty of your sweet home.
There are various advantages of using commercial stone or architectural stone. These are available in any shapes or sizes as required. These are comparatively more durable than the synthetic one. The availability of various colours gives you an option to select one that suits your household. They are very attractive and give a unique appearance to the wall and flooring. They can also be used to enhance the fire place of your house. With the help of technology, you can also make your own design and bespoke your stone to fix it in a particular place to make it more eye catching.
