Overview – Pau d’Arco is an ancient natural remedy used for hundreds of years by the Central and South Native American tribes, such as the Axtecs and the Incas. It is also known as taheebo, ipe roxo, or lapacho. This herb comes from the inner bark of the Tabebuia avellanedae tree and is especially renowned for its ability to treat cancer, tumors, and particularly potent bacteria such as the Staphylococcus aureus strand.
The Cancer industry as a whole earns hundreds of Billions of dollars each year, and so I can think of a few hundred billion reasons why the mainstream health care system (and the medical schools they fund) may want to suppress or "discredit" information about herbs such as Pau d’Arco and Vitamin C. The fact that many, many people all around the world ruin their health and subject themselves to Chemotherapy seems as if it has no effect on the situation.
Pau d’Arco has anti-viral, antibacterial, anti-parasitical, and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, it is able to cleanse the blood. It can be used to treat a wide variety of ailments in addition to cancer and tumors.
What Pau D’Arco Can Treat – Candida, Breast, Prostrate, Lung, Colon, and other Cancers, Tumors, Tuberculosis, Bacteria, Viruses, Pneumonia, Dysentery, Yoshida’s Sarcoma, Arthritis, Inflammation, Prostatitis, Boils, Ulcers, Pain, Parasites, Herpes Simplex, Flu, Warts, Rheumatism, Cough, Bowel Disease, Melanoma
Treatment – This herb is treatment is usually taken orally by tincture or tea. In tincture form, you can place about 30 drops (or around 300-350 mg of Pau d’Arco) in water or juice, and drink this up 2-3 times per day.
For tea, boil 1-1.5 teaspoons of Pau d’Arco in one cup of water. Drink this 2-3 times per day.
How it Works – The following is a list of the three most important active ingredients:
Lapachol – This contains the antioxidant quercetin, but this is not usually ingested in its pure form since it is toxic. It is synthesized into beta-lapachone
Alpha-lapachone – In one study, scientists concluded that "each quinone [alpha and beta lapachone] induced cell death by apoptosis" (Universidade Federal de Alagoas). Thus, they have antioxidant properties, which are very effective in treating radical cells, such as cancerous cells. Another study by the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil found that alpha-lapachone showed potential to treat Trypanosome, parasites.
Beta-lapachone – This substance also contains quercetin and is one of the most important active ingredients in Pau d’Arco. This is generally believed to be the substance that inhibits the growth of tumors, the spread of cancer, and will destroy free radicals.
Toxicity – Pau d’Arco can be toxic if used over long periods of time. It is best to always take breaks—if you drink the tea for a month straight, take 4-6 weeks off of it, and then resume.
Do not take Pau d’Arco if you are taking anticoagulant medication. Children should not take Pau d’Arco.
