The National Zoological Park of Delhi established in the year 1959 is reckoned as one of the finest and largest zoos in Asia. It was designed by major Weinman of Sri Lanka and Carl Hagenbeck of West Germany.

Close to Purana Qila or Old Fort and sprawled over a massive area of 214 acres, Delhi Zoo is home of more than 2000 animals and bird species from different parts of the world like Africa, America, Australia and Asia.
